Who can you trust to move your business?

office removals

When they say that moving is one of the most stressful events of your life, it usually relates to moving a home. There aren’t as many well-rounded phrases for business moves.

For some people, it will be a great opportunity for a new start, maybe even making their commute easier. For others it will be a tear and something that may make them question whether they want to continue within your place of work.

While the stress levels will not be the same for everyone, your project manager is not going to rest easy until you are in your new place and your computers are switched on. So what can you do to make this easier? Not all removal companies are made equal. You need to find one you can trust. Here are some things to look out for:

  1. The right experience and expertise

Moving a business is not the same as moving a home. Not only is there likely to be more furniture but it’s also going to be heavier. There will also be a lot of confidential data to transport. In order to make sure all your items are transported not only safely but legally, you will be better served to ensure that you go with a company that isn’t just starting out, but has a track record of supporting businesses in their moves.

  1. Insurance coverage

Can you find information on what and how much the insurance coverage of your potential removal company will cover? That’s a good first step. Transparency is key, and in the unlikely event that something does go wrong, you will know that you are covered. With business moves, there may also need to be the extra coverage of data.

  1. Reputation and reviews

Do you know anyone who has used your potential removal company before? What was their experience? Look on as many different sources as possible to gain an impression of what working with the company is like. One person’s ideal removal’s partner is another’s less than ideal, so read enough to get a sense of what they are like. Check out social media, accounts like CheckaTrade and any reviews and case studies that you can find.

  1. Understanding of your needs

Every business move is different. The right removal company should be able to tailor their solutions to your need – whether it’s a standard move, or you need packaging and storage too. It’s also worth meeting with them before signing up to their service, so that you can see if you like them. The better you get on with the people taking on your move, the easier it will be.
