Moving to Essex?

moving to essex

For over 25 years, we have been moving people throughout Essex, Hertfordshire and London and we know that each place has its own benefits and charm.

If you only know about Essex through the TV, you are missing out on a place full of beaches, heritage and forest. It’s even on the Central Line.

What’s Essex like?

Birthplace of Dermot O’Leary, Olly Murs, Maggie Smith and fibre optics, Essex is far more than its known for. A home county which borders Hertfordshire, Kent, Greater London and Suffolk, it boasts some of the most beautiful coastal areas in the country, along with 86 nature reserves and parks. If you have children, Essex parks offer an extra element of interaction with trails to find the characters from Peter Rabbit, The Gruffalo and the Stick Man, among others.

If you enjoy being outdoors, Essex is very cycle-friendly – in fact, if you have seen footage of Ride London, you will have seen some of Essex on the route.

Its border to London makes it handy to commute from. Places like Buckhurst Hill through to Epping are all in Essex and on the Central Line, while other areas enjoy a 30 minute journey to London and sit on the trainline to the Stansted Express.

If shopping is more your thing, there are lots of boutique stores as well as large brand outlets.

There’s also lots to experience, if you have an interest in history. Boudica led the revolt in what is now Colchester, where large sections of Roman walls still stand. Norman British life can also be understood further at Mountfitchet Castle.

There are also a wide range of Michelin Star restaurants around the county and some great seafood restaurants. There’s also some great jam – Tiptree Jam is even said to be the chosen brand of the royal family.

Are there more perks to living there?

For the same price of a two bed apartment in Golders Green, you could be in a four/five bed in Essex with a garden. Not only can you get a bigger house for your money, you could move to a place with more character, such as a thatched cottage or a stately home.
