As this is our first blog for a while, we’d like to start it by welcoming you back, or saying hello, if you’re passing by for the first time. We hope you are all safe and well.
Over the past few months, everyone’s lives suddenly changed, with the spread of covid-19 and the restrictions put in place to try to slow the spread. This impacted not only our industry, but everyone moving or hoping to get going. If you were one of the many people who were just about to complete on your homes only to find your lives on pause for seven weeks during lockdown, or one of the many in the middle of a big refurb, getting ready to sell up, we really sympathise.
We’re pleased to say that, whether you’re buying or renting, councils, estate agents, conveyancers and surveyors are all offering their services again, if slightly amended to take into consideration the current conditions.
And this of course means that we’re incredibly happy to say that we’re on the move again too.
We’ve put a few things in place so that we can ensure that everyone is acting responsibly to make your move as safe as possible, including:
Putting health above your move
We know you may have had to wait longer than you had hoped to move, but if you are showing symptoms of coronavirus or self-isolating, please let us know. We would advise that no work should be undertaken by a person who has symptoms, however mild they may be, and that the move should be delayed until you’re all clear. This is for the sake of your health, the new residents of your current property and everyone involved in moving your belongings. To make sure you’re keeping up to date with the latest symptoms, it’s worth keeping an eye on the NHS website.
Clean and distanced
Our team will want to wash their hands as soon as they enter your property, and will seek to dry them on towels that only they will use which can be washed separately after, or paper towels which will be disposed of safely. We’ll then apply hand sanitiser and be wearing PPE.
We’re a really friendly bunch but we’ll aim to carry out the move at a two-metre distance from you at all times, and it would be great if you could help us with this.
Bubble moving buddies
You may have heard a lot about social bubbles recently, but maybe not bubble moving buddies! Our team will be buddying up to make sure that the same people work together when moving bulky items and furniture, so that we can keep any risk to a minimum. We’ll also have only two people in the moving van.
Thanks for asking, but no thanks
We really appreciate that you may want to offer us a drink, especially on these really hot days, but we’re going to be bringing our own refreshments with us – so that means less washing up, too.
While the above is all an absolute must, there are a few other things that it would be good for you to do – and the first one is to contact us as soon as you know you are moving, so we can get all the right people in place and make sure everything happens in the best way possible. Once we’re with you, it would be great if you could open all of your internal doors, so that as few people as possible are touching the door handles.
We hope this has gone some way to set your mind at ease that your move will be as safe and responsible as possible at this time with us. If you would like to discuss anything further, please get in touch on 020 8888 1050 or email info@ffg123.com
